Facebook

Well, I told you guys a while back that I didn't think I was going to keep this and facebook up. Facebook has definately proven to be a better outlet becuase I can reach so many more people. I am going to leave this up (not delete it from Blogger) so you can still use it as a reference if you're not on Facebook. You can always call or email me if you have ideas of something you'd like to order. And, I may still post something on here every now and then.

If you're on Facebook, but haven't gone to my page, please do so! Carla's Dainty Designs and click "Like".

Kids Aprons

I found these super cute kids aprons at Joann's, so I made Ciara one to go with her kitchen set and some things she's getting for her birthday.

Live on Facebook!!

Carla's Dainty Design's is now on Facebook! I sent out FB invitations to everyone I know looks at the blog. Sorry if I missed someone. I don't know how long I will keep up both (I will keep our regular blog) as I think it will take too much time to duplicate AND I can hit a larger audience on FB...already have 3 people looking since yesterday that are friends of friends that would have never seen my blog!

Ok, so I said I'd be making more stacked bows...

I LOVE this one! It will look adorable with all Ciara's hot pink outfits this summer (not this outfit, it's just what she happened to be wearing). When I got the camera out, Ciara looked up at me and said "cheese" for the first time ever. I didn't post that picture b/c she was looking up at me so you couldn't see the bow real well. It was SO cute though!

Medium $7, Large $9
This bow is cuter in person and Matt and his mom like it better than the one above. You stack it on top of the spikes below to give it the same look as the bow above. The green inside is separate ribbon so it could be done in yellow, pink or purple to coordinate with the floral print.

This bow only $5.50 medium, large $6.50
Spikes only $3
Put together (not separable) Medium $7, Large $9

NEW!! Stacked bows

I had made a small butterfly bow to go with Ciara's Easter dress and it would have been fine for any other occasion, but I then decided I wanted something fancier since it was Easter. That is when I decided it was time to learn how to make the "stacked bows". So, this was my first attempt (my spikes are a little short), but they are getting better. The fun thing is, you can use as many colors as you like!!

Small stacked bows (3" or smaller) $4-5.00 (depending on how elaborate they are).
Medium stacked bows (4") $7.00
Large stacked bows (larger than 4") $9.00

This is a medium. IF my spikes were right, it would measure just shy of 4".

A simple small stacked bow $4.00.

New project photos as promised!

Here is Ciara's newest pillow! Great for Easter, yet it doesn't scream Easter, so I chose the wording "Happy Spring" and plan to use it for another 6 weeks or so.

Pillow case $10
w/ embroidery $15
w/ pillow $18
This is the first burp rag I've done with ribbon and it turned out great! It also has a strip of ribbon on the back at the bottom.

Embroidery only $8
w/ ribbon $9
For this, the request was for ribbon that was hot pink with black polka dots or vice versa. I had trouble finding 1 1/2" ribbon, so I got creative and used 7/8" and made 2 strips then added the little black ribbon to dress it up more. I LOVE THIS ONE!!!!

Embroidery only $8
w/ ribbon $9 (add'l small bows 50c ea.)
I also made a made a bib to match this (no ribbon)
If you know me very well, you know I'm always looking for a bargain! I found this little long-sleeved t-sirt at Target a few weeks ago for 75c!! I then made it an Easter shirt for Ciara. She has jeans with little flowers all over the front (sorry, didn't think to take a picture of them). Sorry it's wrinkly, she had it on all evening, then I took a picture of it after she was in bed for the night.

Embroidered shirt $8

New room/new bows

In the process of finishing the basement, we didn't finish the backroom, but we did add some countertop and move some cabinets around in the process so we could add shelving in the back.

Here's my machine's new home! The countertop you can barely see to the R is for scrapbooking, bow making, etc.
This is a beautiful medium sized (4") bow in lime green with white polka dots.
Med - $5.00, Large - $6.00
This butterfly bow compliments Ciara's Easter dress.
$3.00
This is a cute little 2" bow made with 3/8" grossgrain ribbon. The perfect size for a girl with only a small amount of hair.
This bow is actually turquoise and was made to match a couple of Jenna's outfits.
$3.00
Don't forget about my Easter bunny bows (listed under Easter to the R)!

New things!

Sorry for the lack of posts! I got really busy working on the basement and haven't done any embroidery or bows in a long time until yesterday.

I will post some new pictures and items in the next couple of days!!

Custom Creations

I know I've said this before, but I will do my best to match pretty much anything! I was sent this picture and asked to make something in brown and green to go with these outfits:
Here is what I came up with...
Here is one up close. It's hard to tell, but the biggest flower is cream w/ bright lime green underneath. The middle flower is the brighter green and the smallest flower on top is a lighter lime green.

The best part is, once the girls outgrow these outfits, the flower is removable and they still have a nice brown bow! Or, they can just wear the flower to side-sweep bangs, etc.

For another little girl, I was asked to make a bow in her favorite colors...turquoise (though it looks more blue here), hot pink and yellow!

Valentine's Day is upon us...

Valentine's Day is only a little more than a month away & yes, I would know! I will be 30!!! Not real sure what I think about that...

Anyway, here is a cute heart shaped bow. I can make it in any color combination of pinks, red, black, white. I think it's adorable that it even looks like it has an arrow going through it!

Heart...$3

Not sure you have a pink bow to match that one particular outfit or need a bow that you can use for Valentine's Day, yet it's versatile with other outfits as well.

As always, Medium $4, Large $5. I even have a mini for $3 (good for baby with small amt of hair).
Then, of course, there's the Valentine Pillowcase, great for crib or travel.
$10 for case only, $15 w/ embroidery, $18 w/ pillow.

Flower Power

Ciara has several outfits for this Spring/Summer that are hot pink and have flowers on them and I was in the mood to make a couple bows yesterday, so I made these. They are cute to pull hair back or to wear 2 in pigtails!

Hot pink flower w/ green stitching...$3 each

This one even has a stem. I can make these in several different colors!
