Live on Facebook!!

Carla's Dainty Design's is now on Facebook! I sent out FB invitations to everyone I know looks at the blog. Sorry if I missed someone. I don't know how long I will keep up both (I will keep our regular blog) as I think it will take too much time to duplicate AND I can hit a larger audience on FB...already have 3 people looking since yesterday that are friends of friends that would have never seen my blog!

Ok, so I said I'd be making more stacked bows...

I LOVE this one! It will look adorable with all Ciara's hot pink outfits this summer (not this outfit, it's just what she happened to be wearing). When I got the camera out, Ciara looked up at me and said "cheese" for the first time ever. I didn't post that picture b/c she was looking up at me so you couldn't see the bow real well. It was SO cute though!

Medium $7, Large $9
This bow is cuter in person and Matt and his mom like it better than the one above. You stack it on top of the spikes below to give it the same look as the bow above. The green inside is separate ribbon so it could be done in yellow, pink or purple to coordinate with the floral print.

This bow only $5.50 medium, large $6.50
Spikes only $3
Put together (not separable) Medium $7, Large $9

NEW!! Stacked bows

I had made a small butterfly bow to go with Ciara's Easter dress and it would have been fine for any other occasion, but I then decided I wanted something fancier since it was Easter. That is when I decided it was time to learn how to make the "stacked bows". So, this was my first attempt (my spikes are a little short), but they are getting better. The fun thing is, you can use as many colors as you like!!

Small stacked bows (3" or smaller) $4-5.00 (depending on how elaborate they are).
Medium stacked bows (4") $7.00
Large stacked bows (larger than 4") $9.00

This is a medium. IF my spikes were right, it would measure just shy of 4".
Ciara in her Easter dress and new stacked bow on the way to the car Easter morning.

A simple small stacked bow $4.00.

New room/new bows

In the process of finishing the basement, we didn't finish the backroom, but we did add some countertop and move some cabinets around in the process so we could add shelving in the back.

Here's my machine's new home! The countertop you can barely see to the R is for scrapbooking, bow making, etc.
This is a beautiful medium sized (4") bow in lime green with white polka dots.
Med - $5.00, Large - $6.00
This butterfly bow compliments Ciara's Easter dress.
$3.00
This is a cute little 2" bow made with 3/8" grossgrain ribbon. The perfect size for a girl with only a small amount of hair.
This bow is actually turquoise and was made to match a couple of Jenna's outfits.
$3.00
Don't forget about my Easter bunny bows (listed under Easter to the R)!

Custom Creations

I know I've said this before, but I will do my best to match pretty much anything! I was sent this picture and asked to make something in brown and green to go with these outfits:
Here is what I came up with...
Here is one up close. It's hard to tell, but the biggest flower is cream w/ bright lime green underneath. The middle flower is the brighter green and the smallest flower on top is a lighter lime green.

The best part is, once the girls outgrow these outfits, the flower is removable and they still have a nice brown bow! Or, they can just wear the flower to side-sweep bangs, etc.

For another little girl, I was asked to make a bow in her favorite colors...turquoise (though it looks more blue here), hot pink and yellow!

Christmas Mania !!

Last weekend was Bow Mania at our house! I don't even know how many bows I made! They were mostly Christmas bows that will be on display at the shop where I get my hair cut...Leanna's Hair and Tanning in Poseyville, but I can sell any of them to anyone interested, or make more!

In this post, all the bows are large bows that measure about 4" or more!

This is 2 separate bows put together which gives you more flexibility since they can be worn together (as seen below) or unclip the small bow to wear separately!

Large bow, w/ separate center bow $8.50.
Large only is $6.00.
Small only is $3.00.
I can also do this in a medium size for $7.50.
Same thing, but colors are reversed.
Large red bow (or green) $6.00 (seen here)
Medium $5.00
Christmas polka dots. Large $6.00, medium $5.00.

New, Fun Bows!

I found this ribbon and fell in love with it! Plus, it matches a new dress Ciara has for winter!

Medium= ~3" $5.00, Large= ~4" $6.00
It's a little hard to tell in the picture, but this is a light pink bow stacked on a larger brown bow.

Medium $5.50, Large $6.50

A brighter, yet light pink bow.

Medium $5.00, Large $6.00
I really made the pink one above for one of her smaller bows that is almost too little on her now unless it's being used to sweep her bangs back. You just clip the smaller bow through the knot of the larger bow for a different look!!

Big Bows are here!!

After having a request the week before last for some bigger bows, I've had lots of requests!

If I DON'T HAVE THE COLOR YOU WANT, I WILL GET IT!

When I say "Big Bow", I am referring to a bow that measures approximately 4" across!

Here are SOME of the bows I made this weekend!

Big bows are $6 ea. for one color and 50c for ea. additional color.
I don't charge extra if the additional color is the knot.
Really elaborate bows may be extra.
I really like this one! $6
Beautiful Fall bow. $6.50
(Again, no add'l charge for knot being different color)
Star bow $6

Halloween Bows

Halloween is only 2 months away! Time to start thinking about Halloween or fall hairbows!

4" bow, 3 colors, $7
Hey look a regular 4" bow, with a ghost in the center. Can be worn separately, I have another style big bow the ghost would look better on, but this is what I had made up.

Big bow 6", ghost $3
Big bow, 2 colors, $6.50. Medium, 2 colors, $5.50
Big bow, 3 colors, $7
This one is really cute in person, the orange/yellow ribbon doesn't stand out as much in the picture.
Don't forget any of these styles can be done in other colors!!! These are just what I had orders for!

Versatility

As I've learned, you can have a lot of versatility with your hairbows if you use your creativity.

Big black bow, with Halloween korker bow in center.
Big bow $6. Medium korker $4 ea.
Look, there's an extra korker bow. (That really is purple, not blue!)
Now, you have 1 Big Bow, or 2 korkers for pig tails!
This can be done with any smaller bow, just stick it through beneath the knot of the big bow! I will show more samples of this later, as I plan to use some of Ciara's small bows as the centers of the bigger bows she's growing into!

Bows for Emma

I hadn't made any big bows yet and then the week before last I had a request from a friend who's daughter is 3 and needed something bigger, so here we go!

Made to match the outfit Emma was going to wear to her first day of pre-school.

4" bow, 3 colors $7
Emma modeling her bow on her first day of pre-school.
Another 4" bow, 3 colors, $7
Look, it matches another one of Emma's outfits!
